With this seal, DDW (Die Deutsche Wirtschaft) and the German Excellence Test award a “mark of reliable business partners”. It recognises the performance and culture of SMEs and makes them visible to the German business network.

Companies are assessed neutrally on the basis of 26 characteristics and key figures that symbolise the qualities of German SMEs. The excellence factors are divided into the categories of innovation, certifications, employer performance, commitment to society, the environment, and the public, and key business figures.
