FMECA – Effects/impacts analysis

Failure mode, effects and criticality analysis analyses the plant for thinkable failures and their impact on the whole production process or the product itself. In comparison to RCA it is not relevant why a failure occured but how to mitigate the risk.

RCA – Root Cause Analysis

Very often the real cause for a failure or breakdown is not identifiable. Especially when the failure happens in a process chain. A root cause analysis shows possible reasons based on various data streams and condition monitoring data. The probability of such possible root causes can then be examined by experts .

RBI – Risk based inspections

Basis of a risk-based maintenance is the proper designation of assets. By performing a criticality analysis the risk and the probability of occurance can be determined as well as the impact on the value chain and/or the consequences in regards to health, safety and environment.
